Pair with light dishes of chicken and seafood, hors d’oeuvres or just on its own.
“Open-top fermented with some flor influence in its winemaking backdrop. Apt for the variety! It’s a gently fruity, lightly saline and nutty white wine of interest and detail, set to medium weight. Flavours deliver a gentle but compelling array of savoury elements, from honey-glazed cashew to fino sherry with a thrust of briny, saline, minerally tang. While the fruitiness is perhaps a little overt overall, and the flor influence could go further, this is a delicious drink. Cleverly made to eke out additional oomph from this excellent variety”. “The wine is produced from the very noble white variety of Jura, France – savagnin. This is a dry, straightforward style a long way away from the intense and complex wines of Jura, and fair enough, being from the Granite Belt, albeit it loses some of the potential of savagnin. Here, it presents as a light, crisp white of citrus, green apple and faint pear and elderflower characters. It delivers refreshment factor and baseline complexity. It’s thirst-quenching and easy drinking. Fine and dandy.” HALLIDAY 2024
“Nutty, briny, mealy and baked apple aromas are at play. Sweet and fleshy on entry, then citrus, passionfruit and stone fruit kick in. The acidity is high and delivers real tang and presence. ” THE REAL REVIEW 2024
