Description
An elegant, lighter style Shiraz Viognier, made as a traditional co-ferment with 6% Viognier, lightly oaked, cool fermented and extended skin contact.
Decanting will soften this wine’s youth and reward you with silky tannins, lovely sour cherry, white pepper, almond and mulberry, all wrapped in a refereshing acidity.
“Vibrant ruby red with purple glints at the edges. Fragrant mulberry, violets and musk spice aromatics. Bright red fruits with layers of white pepper, musk and nori savouries adding complexity. Acidity is very bright and youthful while doing the driving while tannins remain background and fine. Good length and persistence to the fine, dry finish.” HUON HOOK, THE REAL REVIEW 2024
“Shiraz from 60+yo vines co-fermented with 6% viognier. Viognier (as usual with Heritage) is crushed with high SO2 in cold storage and when warmed is highly aromatic in the shiraz ferment. Post-ferment maceration of 3 weeks was needed.” HALLIDAY 2021
